Ventures

Businesses we own and run

Leading Star holds equity in operating companies, not only contracts. Each venture runs under its own brand, backed by the parent company's supply chain and balance sheet.

Our approach

Practical. Agile-based.

We invest where demand is everyday rather than speculative, where our existing import and clearance capability lowers the landed cost, and where the difference between a good operator and a poor one is visible to the customer immediately.

We take control positions so operating decisions — stock, pricing, standards — can be made in days rather than negotiated over months. Where a venture needs licensed professional oversight, we partner with the operator and hold the majority.

Plans are set in short cycles and revised against what the market actually does. That is what agile means here: not a methodology on a slide, but the ability to change route without stopping.

Retail — beauty & occasion wear

Black Flower

Black Flower is a boutique retail brand built around two customers who are underserved in Juba: the woman who wants quality she can trust without flying for it, and the groom who needs an outfit that fits on the day, not a week after it.

On one side: human hair, ready-to-wear and custom wigs, installation and styling, and accessories chosen to finish an outfit rather than compete with it. A curated makeup range is opening soon.

On the other: high-end designer African attire for grooms and groomsmen — agbada, kaftan, dashiki and tailored contemporary cuts, measured and fitted against the wedding date.

Healthcare — community pharmacy

Citizen Health Pharmacy

Citizen Health Pharmacy is a community pharmacy operated as a business partnership.

Counterfeit and poorly stored medicine is a real problem in this region. Citizen Health buys through Leading Star's medical supply chain, which means a documented route from supplier to shelf and proper handling for products that need it.

The pharmacy serves walk-in customers and holds standing supply accounts for clinics, schools, NGOs and employers that need a reliable, documented source without running their own procurement.

What it offers

  • Chronic care refills and adherence support
